What is Collaborative Law?

Collaborative Family Law Practice is a way for you to resolve disputes respectfully – agreeing up front not to go to court – while working with trained professionals.  It’s also called “no-court divorce,” “divorce with dignity,” “peaceful divorce” offering you the support, protection, and guidance of your own lawyers without going to court.  Additionally, Collaborative Divorce allows you the benefit of child and financial specialists, divorce coaches and other professionals all working together on your team.

The main points of Collaborative Practice are:

  • Prioritize and maintain control on your own issues without having courts involved.
  • May be the most cost effective – emotionally and financially.
  • A team approach – when necessary, other professionals such as divorce coaches, financial divorce specialists, business valuators, child psychologists, career counselors are called in to help.
